Frenuloplasty

Congenital defects in the oral cavity can lead to impaired normal functioning of the teeth and other complications. Improperly located bridles (frenuli) are a common cause of patients going to the dental clinic to fix the problem. Frenuloplasty is a plastic surgery to correct improperly attached frenums of the tongue and lips to the periodontium. The use of laser systems makes this procedure quick and completely painless.

Indications for frenuloplasty:

– enlarged gap between the front teeth;

– frequent accumulation of food and the formation of tartar;

– exposure of the necks of the teeth;

– malocclusion;

– in some cases – problems with the speech apparatus.

At the first visit, the dentist conducts an examination, prescribes diagnostic procedures, and develops a treatment plan for each individual case. Frenuloplasty is performed under local anesthesia, the patient does not feel any pain during the procedure. After anesthesia, the bridle is excised, and the mucous membrane adjacent to the edges is cut at the edges and sutured. The technique of this operation involves the use of one or more techniques, which are determined by a specialist for each individual case. After frenuloplasty, the doctor will tell you about the intricacies of caring for the oral cavity in the postoperative period until the wounds heal completely.
